As a teenager reading James Clavell’s novel “Shōgun” I have always been dreaming about traveling to Japan.
After starting karate, of course these dreams have increased exponentially.
At that time, in the early 1980’s this was impossible, for many reasons.
Continuing my karate training and constantly reading whatever I could find about Japan, I never stopped dreaming, most times even with my eyes open.
It took me many years to fulfill my dream, however, if the is a will, there is a way.
When I look at the kids in our dojo, I see myself, and the same desire to learn and see new things.
For this reason I made sure I brought Japan into the dojo.
Hopefully it will build the same passion for karate, inspire them to dream big and realize whatever they put their mind to.
